UPDATE:

OKAY, Oklahoma (Wagoner County) — A suspect has now been formally identified and charged in connection with a stabbing that left a man with life-threatening injuries in the town of Okay earlier Tuesday, according to booking records and sources.

The suspect has been identified as Daniel McCage, a 32-year-old white male from Fort Gibson.

According to jail records, McCage was booked into custody at approximately 4:38 p.m. on January 13, 2026. He is facing the following charges:

Assault and Battery with a Deadly Weapon

Aggravated Assault and Battery

Obstruction of Investigation

 

This is an arrest, not a conviction. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Original Story: Man Critically Injured in Stabbing in Okay, Oklahoma; Arrest Made

 

OKAY, Oklahoma (Wagoner County) — A man is fighting for his life following a stabbing that occurred late Tuesday morning in the town of Okay, according to sources.

 

The incident happened around the 11:00 a.m. timeframe when two men reportedly became involved in an altercation. During the confrontation, one of the men was stabbed in the neck and shoulder area, suffering life-threatening injuries.

 

Sources say the victim, a male in his 50s, was able to drive approximately a quarter-mile to one mile away from the scene in an effort to get help. He later collapsed at a convenience store in the Okay area, prompting an emergency response.

 

First responders from the Okay Fire Department, Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office, and Muskogee County EMS responded to the scene and worked to stabilize the victim.

 

Due to the severity of his injuries, Life Flight was requested, and the victim was flown from the Okay area to a Tulsa-area hospital. Sources indicate he was taken directly into surgery and was last reported to be in critical condition, fighting for his life.

 

Sources also say an arrest has been made in connection with the stabbing. The identity of the suspect has not been released, and the investigation remains ongoing.
