Locust Grove, Okla. — A suspect is in custody following a high-speed pursuit through residential neighborhoods in Locust Grove Tuesday night, according to multiple sources familiar with the incident.

Sources tell Oklahoma News and Weather Network that the incident began around 7:30 p.m. on January 14, 2026, when officers attempted to stop a Chevy pickup truck. The driver refused to stop, leading officers on a pursuit through city streets.

During the chase, the pickup truck drove through several residential front yards and jumped curbs, creating a dangerous situation for nearby residents, according to sources.

Backup was requested from the Mayes County Sheriff’s Office, GRDA Police, and the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service.

Sources say that after additional units arrived, the suspect attempted to ram multiple Cherokee Nation Marshal Service vehicles. The pursuit ended when the driver entered a yard surrounded by trees and was unable to escape.

The suspect was taken into custody. At this time, the suspect’s identity and the reason for fleeing are unknown. No official statement has been released by law enforcement.
