Measles Exposure Confirmed at Norman Bar, Health Officials Warn Public

NORMAN, Okla. — The Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) has issued a public health advisory after confirming a potential measles exposure at a popular Norman business.

According to OSDH, an individual who later tested positive for measles was present at Logie’s on the Corner while contagious, potentially exposing others to the virus.

Exposure Details

  • Business: Logie’s on the Corner

  • Address: 749 Asp Avenue, Norman

  • Date: Friday, January 24, 2026

  • Time: 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. (early Saturday morning, January 25)

Health officials say anyone who visited the location during this time frame may have been exposed, especially individuals who are unvaccinated, unsure of their vaccination status, or not immune to measles.

What You Should Do

OSDH is urging anyone who was at the location during the listed timeframe and has concerns to:

  • Monitor for symptoms such as fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes, or rash

  • Avoid public places if symptoms develop

  • Provide their name and contact information using the official OSDH form

Officials say someone from the department will reach out between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., seven days a week, with further instructions and guidance if needed.

Why This Matters

Measles is a highly contagious respiratory virus that spreads through coughing and sneezing and can remain in the air for up to two hours after an infected person leaves an area. While most people recover, measles can cause serious complications, particularly in young children, pregnant individuals, and those with weakened immune systems.

Health officials stress that the MMR vaccine (measles, mumps, rubella) remains the most effective protection against the disease.

OSDH says this advisory is being issued out of an abundance of caution to protect public health and prevent further spread.

Anyone with questions or concerns is encouraged to contact their healthcare provider or the Oklahoma State Department of Health directly.
